Summit Clearview Rehabilitation Services
Program Description
Summit Clearview Rehabilitation Services is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization. The mission is to provide mental health and addiction recovery services to individuals and their families that focus on support, hope and growth on their journey toward a healthy lifestyle.
The program will serve men ages 18 years and older with drug addiction and mental health recovery services. Services will also include:
•
Beds: six beds and recovery support will be for six months, which will equal at least 12 men and up to 14 per year due to some individuals leaving early.
•
Staff: 24/7 culturally competent staff who are qualified, passionate, and can serve a diverse population. Summit Clearview LLC will provide 24 hour properly licensed staff care in the home. We will have three residential aides, two part-time recovery coaches, and a full-time house manager on location. We will link clients with appropriate wrap around community resources to ensure continuity of care. Some resources include the ADM Board, medical and mental health care, counseling and case management, and clothing and job or benefits centers.
•
Services: a variety of services through grants and donations, including recovery housing, provide daily living skill coaching, transportation to and from doctor and, mental health appointments, and to A.A. and N. A. meetings. Staff will educate clients on nutrition, hygiene, caring for personal space, and introduce a vast array of positive coping skills to practice for personal growth and development of a healthy lifestyle. We will also assist clients with employment resources and budgeting finances. Our recovery home will also provide three meals, snacks, furnished common areas, and bedrooms, and toiletries.
•
Facility: will be located in the city of Akron, in Summit County. We look to purchase a home which will have a minimum of three bedrooms, full kitchen and bath and a common area. The bedrooms will be double occupancy. Summit Clearview has a target date of opening June 1, 2018. The length of the program will be 6 months, and longer if deemed necessary, but not to exceed nine months per individual.
•
Need for Services: According to an Article in the December 8, 2017 Edition of the Akron Beacon Journal, since 2016, over 250 residents died from overdose, and during the first 11 months of 2017 nearly 2,200 Summit County residents were seen in hospitals for overdosing. Our community has lost too many people because of drug addiction and mental health struggles. Unfortunately, a vast majority of individuals must battle drug addiction and mental illness together.
Summit Clearview recognizes the importance of treating both diseases, instead of one or the other. That is why we want to provide recovery services and link our clients to wrap around services in hopes of introducing them to a multi-faceted recovery system. In addition, due to the shortage of adequate drug addiction and mental health recovery homes in the Summit County area, we believe that this recovery home will be a valuable asset to individuals and our community that we serve.
